Back to Backs launches appeal for wallpaper for new exhibition at a historic Birmingham attraction
This year, staff at the Back to Backs, in the heart of the city centre, are working on a new project cataloguing and researching machine-made wallpaper.
As part of the project, the National Trust property is collecting stories related to wallpaper and wants to hear from anyone with leftover wallpaper samples, memories of decorating with wallpaper, those who have worked in wallpaper manufacture and retail or is a collector of vintage wallpaper.
Husnara Bibi, from the project, said: “Everyone has an opinion on wallpaper.
‘We want people to tell us about the most hideous paper they have seen, the earliest one that they can remember and most importantly any decorating anecdotes that they have.
“Whatever the story, big or small, we would love to hear it.”
